If we’re pals, you know I put tons of elbow grease into my travel maps and the way I explore in general. The flow goes something like: chat with trusted sources, read & research, save spots with notes, and then arrive and ride the wave of whatever feels good with the map as a guide. Sometimes I end up at every place flagged, sometimes I wander for the thrill of finding new spots on the fly. But after 10 years of NYC living, I don’t typically travel without some scrap of a plan because nothing irks me more than an overhyped, overpriced etc. etc. meal or experience. I’ve been sharing my worldwide list with friends over the years, but it’s overwhelming.
